Are you a trained Counsellor?
Yes I hold a diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling (equivalent to level 7) from the Institute of Psychosynthesis. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their ethical framework, which includes being in regular supervision.

What is Psychosynthesis?
Psychosynthesis is a holistic approach to therapy developed by Italian psychiatrist Roberto Assagioli. It looks at the whole person – body, mind, emotions, and spirit – and explores both your challenges and inner potential.
Rather than just focusing on problems, Psychosynthesis helps you reconnect with your deeper self and move toward greater meaning, balance, and personal growth.
-
Do I need to have spiritual beliefs to benefit from Psychosynthesis?
Absolutely not. While I work within a psycho-spiritual context, which includes all parts of ourselves including our essential nature as spiritual beings, clients may experience this as connecting with their most authentic self, the self beyond their history and the personal struggles of their daily lives.
-
Is Psychosynthesis counselling different to regular counselling?
Like regular counselling, I provide a safe, supportive, and confidential space where you can explore whatever’s troubling you – whether it's anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, or simply feeling stuck or overwhelmed.
I also hold the possibility of whatever new potential or more authentic 'you' is trying to emerge. Over time, we gently discover the parts that have come into being in order to keep you safe in the world, but that ultimately cover over the untarnished gold that lies beneath.
-
What can I expect in Psychosynthesis counselling?
In order to establish whether I am a good fit with a client (and vice versa), a first introductory session will take place lasting an hour. After this, the first few sessions will be spent getting to know each other, in order for you, the client, to feel safe and secure working with me. As we go deeper, I may bring in some techniques such as guided meditations and mindfulness-based practices, as well as inner child and parts work, but only if it is something the you feel comfortable with. I will always take my lead from you.
-
I have anxiety and/or depression. Will I benefit from Psychosynthesis counselling?
Yes, many people with anxiety and depression find Psychosynthesis helpful. It offers a supportive space to explore difficult feelings while also connecting with your strengths and inner resources. This approach can help you gain clarity, build resilience, and move toward a greater sense of balance and well-being.
-
Do you offer low cost counselling?
Yes. I offer a limited number of low cost counselling slots. Please get in touch for more information.
-
What is the difference between short term and medium term therapy?
Short term therapy tends to last between 8-10 sessions and focuses on particular issues that are manageable in a short time frame. If possible, medium or long term therapy is preferable in order to be able to work on a deeper, more lasting level.
-
I am looking for integration support after a psychedelic experience. Is this something you can help with?
Absolutely. With its inclusion of the spiritual dimension of Self, Psychosynthesis is ideally suited to making sense of the material, including challenging experiences and Spiritual emergencies, that can occur during and after psychedelics.

What does “Medical Cannabis-Informed Counselling” mean?
As someone who has written about medical cannabis and also worked alongside patients who use cannabis medicinally (with prescription and without), I know that finding a therapist who understands and is open to cannabis use in this context can be difficult. For this reason, I offer a compassionate and non-judgemental space for those using cannabis medicinally and seeking mental health support.
